To meet the needs of an expanding market, and to further their corporate mission and goals, Presbyterian Retirement Communities Northwest built a new, 26-story CCRC in downtown Seattle.
The site for Skyline at First Hill is extremely steep, with slopes at about an 11% grade, and is located near bustling downtown Seattle. Designed with the benefits of urban living in mind, our team preserved the downtown views for the individual units and ensured that the historic chapel on an adjacent site was minimally impacted. Awareness of where the shadows from Skyline at First Hill would be cast were kept in the forefront of design, assuring that they were not cast over the neighboring church.
A retail center is located on the ground floor and provides residents an opportunity for social interaction as well as convenient access to everyday necessities. Skyline at First Hill consists of 200 independent living units, 60 assisted living units, 30 skilled nursing units, and 16 assisted living dementia units.
